Penton Farms is a fourth generation family farm in Verbena, Al. They are strictly a family operation who strives to provide the very best produce for their customers. The Pentons have two children ages 20 and 17 who help gather fruits and vegetables and also work farmer's markets all summer. Penton Farms grows a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. They have about 6,000 peach trees, 40 acres of watermelons, 10 acres of vegetables, 5 acres of strawberries and 500 acres of cattle. Their most recent addition is a strawberry u-pick operation called Sugar Hill U-Pick Farms. In the fall they transform their farm into a beautiful pumpkin patch for visitors to come to the farm and pick out their pumpkin as well as to enjoy all of the fun activities for the kids.
