Vendor Spotlight: Saw's Barbecue


If you live in Birmingham, then it can be safe to assume you have not only heard of Saw's before, but you love their delicious barbecue. We proudly host Saw's BBQ's food truck nearly every week at our market this summer. If you have eaten their food before, then you have tasted and seen the goodness of this slow roasted perfection. Not only is their food great, but the story behind the restaurant makes the food even greater. Mike Wilson, (aka SAW), grew up in North Carolina, where he learned the art of backyard barbecuing at a young age. After he completed his studies at the University of Alabama in Restaurant and Hospitality management, he continued his studies in culinary school at Johnson and Wales University in Vail, Colorado. While he began his work as a sous chef, he became known for his incredible barbecue. In the year of 2009, the opportunity arose for Wilson to open up his very own barbecue restaurant in Homewood, Alabama. He hopped on this chance and the restaurant we all know and love was born. Its popularity grew and grew, leading Wilson to quit his other job to commit working full time at his restaurant. The popularity of this restaurant was so high that he opened up two other restaurants in Birmingham, Saw's Soul Kitchen and Saw's Juke Joint. He continues his commitment to his local customers, while continuously serving authentic barbecue that goes unmatched. We are more than thankful to have them at our market this summer, and hope you come to enjoy them while checking out our various other quality goods!
