LIVE ENTERTAINMENT: LEE GIBSON
We are delighted to announce that the talented musician, Lee Gibson, will be gracing us with their presence at the Farmers Market this Tuesday. Lee's captivating musical prowess and soulful melodies are sure to add an extra layer of magic to our market atmosphere. Get ready to be serenaded by Lee's enchanting tunes as you peruse the diverse offerings from our vendors. Don't miss this special opportunity to enjoy the harmonious fusion of live music and the vibrant ambiance of the Farmers Market. Join us this Tuesday and immerse yourself in the melodic talent of Lee Gibson at our extraordinary event!
Lee Gibson, a product of Winchester, Tennessee, embodies his Southern roots and love for country music on stage. Raised humbly, he draws inspiration from legends like Charlie Daniels and Merle Haggard. Gibson's powerful voice and original songs tell relatable stories of love, hardship, and good drinking tunes.
Lee Gibson's voice embodies the essence of country music, often drawing comparisons to artists like Dwight Yoakam and Ronnie Dunn. Influenced by these greats and other Nashville songwriters, Gibson delved into songwriting and secured his first record deal in 2001. This opened doors for him to share the stage with notable musicians such as Randy Houser, Anthony Smith, Darryl Worley, T. Graham Brown, and the late George Jones.
As you enter the market, Lee Gibson's presence will assure you of a remarkable country music experience. His seasoned expertise and undeniable talent shine through, as his inviting voice welcomes you to your seat. This is the essence of a Lee Gibson show—quality, talent, and pure country music.

GREEN LIVING: STAYING SUSTAINABLE FOR THE SUMMER
Supporting local farmers and small businesses is one of the best ways to live sustainably. While our farmer's market can definitely help you out, there's much more you can do throughout the year to make an impactful change in your local community and beyond! Below is a list of some ways our employees use to live sustainably with links if you're interested in learning more!
Build a compost bin! - Composting reduces waste, enriches soil, promotes plant growth, and helps combat climate change by minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.
Donate your old clothes and unwanted items - By donating, you help those in need gain access to clean clothing, warmth, and dignity. Your generosity also promotes sustainable fashion practices, reducing textile waste and conserving resources.
Reduce your water usage - By conserving water, you lower your utility bills and save money. Moreover, you contribute to the preservation of precious freshwater resources, helping to ensure a sustainable water supply for future generations.
Go paperless - By reducing paper usage, you contribute to the preservation of forests and natural habitats. Moreover, embracing a paperless lifestyle promotes organization, efficiency, and convenience, as digital documents are easily searchable and accessible from anywhere.
GIVE & GROW
Sponsors, please consider giving to the GIVE & GROW campaign; which is designed to directly benefit the farmer, grower, and producer (FGP). The West Homewood Farmers Market over the last three years has been able to raise enough funds to enable a select number FGPs to not have to pay booth fees at the market. We'd like to expand that offering by giving you a way to pay those fees directly. We're calling it GIVE & GROW. Give and watch the market GROW. Obviously, this doesn't generate additional revenue needed to grow the market but it does help the FGPs grow, saving them money, and helps us to recruit more vendors like them. We will continue to raise funds through traditional grant, sponsorship, and donation request. In addition, as the traffic continues to grow on www.westhomewood.com we will sell very affordable advertising options.

NEW MARKET MANAGER FOR 2023!
It's hard to believe the West Homewood Farmers Market is opening for our 13th Season this summer and we're excited to introduce and ask you to welcome our new Market Manager - Jessica Harris. Patrons and Vendors alike are going to love her - and, no, we're not going to ask her to wear that big 'ole goofy cowboy hat!
Jessica comes to us by way of AmeriCorps whose mission is to build community through environmental stewardship! I think we're going to adopt that mission statement! In addition, AmeriCorps provides the market with summer interns who help us make the market happen each week. We want to give a big shout-out to UAB who manages the AmeriCorps program. Be sure to say hello to Jessica this summer.
WAYS TO SUPPORT THE FARMERS MARKET
Vendors can apply to the West Homewood Farmer's Market 2023 Season. Click here:
The West Homewood Farmer's Market is a family-friendly market where no alcohol is served and kids have as much fun as adults. We will have kid's planned activities again this summer as well as a good-'ole fashioned sprinkler set-up. Bring your little ones dressed in something where they can get soaked. You'll love the photos you can capture! It's simply a hose with a sprayer on the end... nothing fancy but the kids love it.
Interactive Vendor Map
Discover the participating vendors at the market by using our interactive vendor map. This tool not only reveals who will be present at the market but also provides their contact details.
